This action is self-serve. Super Administrators on the district website can grant and manage Multisite Access from any user's profile.
What is Multisite Access?
Multisite Access lets a single user sign in once and switch between every Edlio website in your organization — without re-entering credentials or managing multiple logins. It's designed for district administrators, communications staff, and anyone who works across more than one school site.
Each user keeps one identity (one username, one email, one profile) across all connected sites, and the district Super Administrator decides what access level that user has on each individual site.
Who can use it
Grant access: Super Administrators on the district website.
Receive access: any user on the district website (typically Website Administrators, but any role can be granted Multisite Access).
How it works
A district Super Administrator opens any user's profile and grants per-site access on the Multisite Access tab. From there, the user can switch between sites using the Navigate to another site dropdown in the header.
Site access levels
When you grant Multisite Access, you pick one of five access levels per site. The same user can have a different level on each site (for example, Super Administrator on the district site and Standard User on a single school site).
Super Administrator — all admin actions including granting Multisite Access and managing administrator users.
Website Administrator — all admin actions except granting Multisite Access and managing administrator users.
Standard User — content management within assigned sections; cannot manage site settings.
Minimal Access User — can view assigned password protected areas on the public website; no access to the admin site.
No Access — user exists on the district but cannot sign in to this child site. (Default for users who have never been granted access.)
The MSM badge
Users with Multisite Access show an MSM badge on their profile in addition to their site-wide access badge (Super Admin, Website Admin, etc.). MSM is short for "multi-site" — it's a visual indicator that this user has access to multiple sites, not a separate permission to grant.
