Parent daily digest emails are automated notifications that keep families informed about classroom updates and assignments. This article explains how the digest system works and what content is included.
How Daily Digests Work
The system automatically compiles updates from all personal pages and classes that a parent has subscribed to into a single daily email. This ensures parents receive all relevant information in one convenient message rather than multiple separate notifications throughout the day.
Email Timing and Delivery
Processing Start Time: 5:30 PM (in your school's time zone)
Delivery Window: While processing begins at 5:30 PM, the system needs time to compile and send all emails. Some parents may not receive their digest until after 6:30 PM, depending on the volume of emails being processed.
What's Included in Each Digest
Personal Page and Post Updates
Updates to teacher personal pages that occurred since the previous day's email
New posts published since the last digest was sent
Assignment Notifications
The digest includes assignment information in three scenarios:
New Assignments: Any assignments added since the previous day's email was sent
8-Day Reminder: Assignments that are due in 8 days (advance notice)
1-Day Reminder: Assignments due tomorrow (final reminder)
This multi-stage notification system helps parents and students stay on top of upcoming deadlines while providing adequate time for planning and completion.
Key Points for Administrators
The digest system operates automatically once parents subscribe to pages and classes
All timing is based on your school's configured time zone
The system tracks the last email sent to ensure no duplicate content is included
Parents will only receive digests if there are updates to report from their subscribed pages
Key Points for Teachers
Updates to your personal pages will appear in parent digests the following day
New posts and assignments are included in the next daily digest after publication
The assignment reminder system works automatically - no additional action needed
Consider the digest timing when posting time-sensitive updates
