Email subscriptions are a powerful way to keep your school community connected and informed about classroom activities, assignments, and announcements. When parents and students subscribe to your pages or classes on the public website, they automatically receive daily email updates whenever you post new content. The system is designed to be efficient and targetedâsubscribers only receive updates for the specific pages and classes they've chosen to follow.
What subscribers receive
The email subscription system delivers personalized updates based on what each person has subscribed to:
Personal Page Subscriptions: When someone subscribes to your personal teacher page, they'll receive email notifications whenever you add posts, announcements, or page updates.
Class Page Subscriptions: Parents and students who subscribe to specific class pages (like Math, English, or Science) receive updates about new assignments, class announcements, schedule changes, and other class-specific information.
Combined Daily Digests: If a parent subscribes to both your personal page and one or more of your classes, they receive a single daily digest email (processed starting at 5:30 PM school time) that compiles updates from each subscribed page. This prevents inbox clutter while ensuring they don't miss important information.
Two ways subscriptions power your communication
Having subscribers on your teacher pages unlocks two distinct communication capabilities in Edlio CMS:
Automated Daily Digests (Passive): Whenever you publish a new post, update page content, or add assignments, the system automatically emails your subscribers without any extra steps required on your part.
Direct Newsletter Broadcasts (Active): Every parent who subscribes is automatically added to your personal Contact List in the CMS dashboard. When you want to send a proactive, styled email newsletterâsuch as a monthly classroom recap, field trip notice, or supply requestâyou can open the Newsletters tool and select your subscriber list as recipients.
Managing subscriptions and contact lists
The subscription system is designed to be user-friendly for both educators and families:
For Educators: You can view your subscriber counts directly on your dashboard and navigate to Contact Lists to see who has subscribed. You can also manually add parent email addresses if they request it.
For Parents and Students: Subscribers have full control over their preferences. Every email digest and newsletter includes a secure link to manage preferences or opt out at any time.
Getting started

Share your page link early: Introduce your personal page and class links during back-to-school nights, in welcome packets, or via email signatures.
