What are Subscriptions?

Your school's website allows parents, students, and community members to subscribe to specific pages and classes to receive automatic email notifications. Subscribers only receive updates from the pages and classes they choose to follow, helping them stay informed about what matters most to them.

How Subscriptions Work

There are two types of subscriptions available on your school website, each serving different purposes:

Personal Page Subscriptions

When someone subscribes to a teacher's personal page, they will receive email notifications for:

  • New posts added to the teacher's home page

  • Changes made to the teacher's home page content

  • Updates to any of the teacher's other pages

Important: Personal page subscribers will NOT receive notifications about class-specific activities like assignments or class announcements.

Class Subscriptions

When someone subscribes to a specific class, they will receive email notifications for:

  • New assignments that are posted each day

  • Assignment reminders for work due tomorrow and one week from tomorrow

  • New posts made to the class page

  • Changes made to the class page content

Important: Class subscribers will NOT receive notifications about the teacher's personal page updates.

Key Points for Administrators and Teachers

Targeted Communication: Subscriptions help ensure that parents and students receive only the information that's relevant to them, reducing email overload while keeping important communications visible.

Separate Systems: Personal and class subscriptions operate independently. If parents want updates from both a teacher's personal page AND their child's class, they need to subscribe to both separately.

Assignment Notifications: Class subscribers receive proactive reminders about upcoming assignments, helping students and parents stay on top of important due dates.

Content Control: Teachers have full control over what notifications are sent by managing their page updates and class posts thoughtfully.

This subscription system helps create an organized communication flow that keeps your school community informed while respecting their preferences for the type of information they want to receive.
