đ Feature Availability Notice â Enabled on a site-by-site basis: The Data Lists feature is an advanced structured data and directory management tool enabled on a site-by-site basis. If you do not see Page Management > Data Lists in your CMS admin navigation or the Data List option in your Add Page Block menu, reach out to Edlio Technical Support or your Client Success Manager (email [email protected]) to discuss turning this feature on for your school or district.
Display Data Lists on your public website by embedding Data List Page Blocks into any page in Edlio CMS. Because management of the list is decoupled from page layout, you can embed the same data list across multiple departmental pages while maintaining data centrally in one spot.
đĄ Best-Practice Adoption Tips
Full-Width Placement: Data Lists with 4 or more columns render best in full-width single-column page layouts, giving visitors plenty of horizontal space for search boxes, sort controls, and data tables.
Clickable Email & Web Links: Format web addresses and emails directly within your data cells so visitors can contact staff or access application PDFs with a single tap.
Dedicated Filter Headers: Ensure category columns (such as Campus or Grade Level) use standardized values so the front-end dropdown filter accurately isolates subsets of records.
Add Data List Page Blocks
Step 1: In the CMS admin panel, navigate to Page Management âĄď¸ Pages and open the page editor for your destination page.
Step 2: Click any inline + Add button between existing content blocks to open the Add Page Block modal.
Step 3: Choose Data List from the block options. You will be prompted to select which published Data List to embed.
Configure Display Options & Filters
Once added, open the Data List block settings to customize visitor controls:
Show Search Bar: Enables an instant keyword search box above the table.
Enable Column Sorting: Allows visitors to click column headers to sort alphabetically or numerically.
Filter Dropdowns: Designate specific columns (such as Campus or Category) as front-end dropdown filters.
Pagination: Set the number of rows displayed per page (e.g. 10, 25, or 50 records) to keep page length manageable.
Formatting Links, Emails, and Media
Data Lists automatically parse and activate common communication links:
Email Addresses: Automatically render as clickable
mailto:links opening the visitor's default email client.Web URLs: Plain URLs (e.g.
https://school.org/scholarship-details) automatically convert into clickable external links opening in a new tab.Document Downloads: Link directly to uploaded PDFs or forms stored in your Edlio Documents feature.
Data list display formats on your website
When adding a Data List to your public pages, the feature adapts cleanly to different types of information, offering flexible presentation styles:
Searchable Tabular Table View: Ideal for structured, uniform directory records (such as District Staff Directories, Course Catalogs, or Approved Vendors). Displays sortable column headers, clean grid rows, and an instant keyword search bar at the top.
Structured Card & List View: Ideal for content-rich entries containing multi-line descriptions, deadlines, and criteria (such as Scholarships, Program Highlights, or Grant Opportunities). Each item renders as an independent informational card with dedicated field labels and top filter dropdowns.
Mobile Responsive Stacking: On mobile devices and smaller screens, wide data tables automatically transform into neatly stacked, touch-friendly cards so visitors can browse without horizontal scrolling.
1. Searchable Tabular Table View
The standard table view provides interactive search and filter controls directly above the dataset, allowing visitors to sort columns and filter by key criteria:
2. Structured Card & List View
The list view organizes data entries into clear vertical record blocks separated by dividers, making it easy to read structured profiles, rosters, or scholarship criteria:
