How to subscribe

Updated over 2 months ago

This guide will help you direct parents and guardians to subscribe to automated email updates from your personal pages and classes on your school website.

Understanding Email Subscriptions

Parents must subscribe to each teacher and class individually to receive personalized email updates. This means:

  • Subscribing to one class does not automatically subscribe them to your other classes

  • Subscribing to your personal page does not subscribe them to your classes

  • Subscribing to a class does not subscribe them to your personal page

Each subscription is separate and must be done individually.

How Parents Subscribe to Your Personal Page

Method 1: Through the Staff Directory

Direct parents to find your name in the Staff Directory on your school's website. When they click on your name, it will take them directly to your personal page where they can click the "Subscribe" button.

Method 2: Share Your Direct Link

You can share the direct link to your personal page with parents:

  1. Log into your admin site

  2. Go to Pages

  3. Find your personal page

  4. Copy the "Link to public site"

  5. Share this link with parents via email, newsletter, or handout

Once parents have your link, instruct them to:

  1. Visit the link

  2. Click the Subscribe button

  3. Enter their name and email address when prompted

  4. Complete the subscription process

After subscribing, they will receive an email each day you update your personal page.

How Parents Subscribe to Your Classes

To help parents subscribe to your individual classes:

  1. Direct them to your personal page (using either method above)

  2. Have them click on the specific class name they want to follow

  3. On the class page, they should click the Subscribe button

  4. They'll need to enter their information to complete the subscription

Important: Each class has its own subscribe button. If parents want updates from multiple classes, they must subscribe to each class separately.

Tips for Teachers

  • Share subscription instructions early in the school year through welcome letters or back-to-school communications

  • Include direct links to your pages in email signatures, classroom newsletters, or parent handouts

  • Remind parents that they need to subscribe to each class individually if they have children in multiple classes

  • Test the process yourself to ensure the subscription buttons are working properly on your pages

What Parents Can Expect

Once subscribed, parents will receive:

  • Daily email updates when you post new content to your personal page

  • Daily email updates when you post new content to subscribed classes

  • Only updates from the specific pages and classes they've subscribed to

Remember that parents control their own subscriptions and can choose which updates are most relevant to them.
