Overview
When you need to remove a user's access to your Edlio CMS, you have three options: lock out, disable, or delete. Each option has different implications for user data and visibility on your website. This article helps you choose the right option for your situation.
Key Questions to Consider
Before taking action, ask yourself:
Is this a temporary removal of privileges?
Do this user's personal pages need to remain on the site?
Does this person need to remain in the staff list?
Should this user account be permanently removed?
If you only need to adjust permissions rather than remove access, consider managing their feature access or changing their account type instead.

From the User Profile Page:

Disable a User
(See our article on "How to Disable and Enable User Accounts" for detailed instructions)
Delete a User
When a user account is deleted:
The account holder can no longer log in
All account information is permanently removed
All their data and personal pages are immediately deleted and cannot be retrieved
This action is permanent and irreversible
To Delete a User:
Navigate to User Management
Find the person and click on the three dots to the right
Scroll to the bottom of the screen
Click the Delete button
Confirm that you want to delete the user
When to Use Each Option
Lock Out: For temporary situations (leave of absence) when you want to maintain all user content
Disable: When a user has left but might return, and you want to hide their content temporarily
Delete: When a user has permanently left and all their content should be removed from the system
