Buttons are an effective way to guide visitors to important pages, forms, or external resources on your school website. This guide will walk you through adding, customizing, and managing buttons on your pages.
Adding a Button
To add a button to any page on your website:
Step 1: Navigate to Pages in your content management dashboard
Step 2: Click "Add" to open the page block options
Step 3: Select "Buttons" from the Add Page Block modal that appears
Step 4: Replace "Add Label" with the text you want to appear on your button (for example: "Enroll Now" or "View Calendar")
Step 5: Insert the destination URL where you want visitors to go when they click the button
Important: Make sure your URL doesn't contain any spaces. For example, use https://yourschool.edu/enrollment-form
instead of https://yourschool.edu/enrollment form
.
You'll notice an exclamation warning appears next to your button until you add a URL. Once you've entered a valid web address, this warning will disappear automatically.
Customizing Button Appearance
You can change how your buttons look to match your school's style:
Step 1: Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of your Button Page Block
Step 2: Choose your preferred color and shape from the Button Block Settings modal
Step 3: Click "Save" to apply your changes
Note: Button colors may initially appear in grayscale. If you'd like the colors to match your school's brand colors exactly, contact technical support for assistance.
Adding Multiple Buttons
Need more than one button in the same area? You can easily add multiple buttons to a single page block:
Click "Add Button" in the lower left corner of your existing Button Page Block
Repeat as needed - there's no limit to how many buttons you can include in one block
This is particularly useful for creating action areas like "Apply Now," "Schedule Tour," and "Contact Us" buttons grouped together.
Organizing and Moving Buttons
Reordering Buttons Within a Block
To change the order of buttons within the same page block:
Click and drag the 6-dot icon next to any individual button to move it up or down
Moving Button Blocks Around Your Page
To relocate an entire set of buttons to a different part of your page:
Click and drag the 6-dot icon next to the Button Page Block itself
Special Feature: If your page uses a Hero Layout, you can move buttons directly into the hero area for maximum visibility and impact.
Removing Buttons
Deleting Individual Buttons
To remove just one button from a group:
Click the trashcan icon next to the specific button you want to delete
Deleting All Buttons
To remove an entire Button Page Block and all buttons within it:
Click the trashcan icon in the upper right corner of the Button Page Block
Best Practices for School Websites
Use clear, action-oriented text like "Register for Classes" instead of generic terms like "Click Here"
Group related buttons together (admissions, academics, athletics)
Place your most important buttons prominently, such as in hero areas
Test your button links regularly to ensure they work properly
Consider your audience - use language that parents, students, and community members will understand
Buttons are powerful tools for directing visitors to the most important parts of your school website. With these features, you can create an intuitive navigation experience that helps families and community members find exactly what they're looking for.
