Your content management platform gives you powerful tools to arrange and style your school website pages exactly how you want them. This guide will walk you through the key features for customizing your page layouts and organization.

Moving Content Blocks Around Your Page

You can easily rearrange any content on your pages, including text, photos, files, and staff information blocks. To move a block:

  1. Look for the 6-dots button in the top left corner of any content block

  2. Click and drag the block to move it to a new position

  3. Drop it wherever you'd like it to appear on the page

Content blocks can be moved anywhere on your page - you can rearrange them within the main content area, move them to the Side Panel, or move them from the Side Panel back to the main content area.

Understanding the Side Panel

The Side Panel creates a column alongside your main page content where you can place additional information. This panel automatically includes your Section Menu and can hold any other content blocks you choose to add there.

The Side Panel is perfect for:

  • Navigation menus

  • Contact information

  • Quick links

  • Announcements

  • Staff directories

Choosing Your Page Layout

Click the "Layout" button at the top right of any page to control how your Side Panel appears. You have three main options:

Page layout templates

Side Panel on the Right This places your additional content in a column on the right side of your page, with your main content on the left.

side panel right

Side Panel on the Left This places your additional content in a column on the left side of your page, with your main content on the right.

side panel left

Single Column (No Side Panel) This removes the Side Panel entirely, giving you a full-width layout for your main content.

You can set these layout options for individual internal pages or apply them globally across all internal pages on your website.

Please note: Internal page layout options do not affect your website homepage.

Using Hero Layouts

Hero layouts provide special formatting options for pages that need to make a strong visual impact. These layouts are ideal for:

  • Homepage designs

  • Department landing pages

  • Event announcements

  • Important school updates

Hero layouts can also display your Section Menu horizontally across the page rather than vertically in the sidebar.

Managing Your Section Menu

The Section Menu automatically shows all the pages within the current section of your website, making it easy for visitors to navigate between related content.

  • Click the trashcan icon above the Section Menu

  • Note: This only removes the menu display - it won't delete any of your actual pages

To add the Section Menu to a page:

  1. Click the "Add" option in the Side Panel

  2. Select "Section Menu" from the dropdown options

You can also rearrange the order of items in your Section Menu to prioritize the most important pages.

Additional Page Options

Access even more customization features through the Page Options menu:

Breadcrumbs Display Choose whether to show breadcrumb navigation at the top of your page. Breadcrumbs help visitors understand where they are on your website and easily navigate back to parent pages.

Friendly URLs Create custom, easy-to-remember web addresses for your pages instead of using automatically generated ones.

Browser Tab Titles Customize what appears in the browser tab when someone visits your page. This is also important for search engine optimization.

Getting Started

The best way to learn these features is to experiment with them on a test page. Try moving blocks around, switching between different layout options, and see how each change affects your page's appearance. Remember, you can always undo changes if you don't like the results.

These customization tools give you the flexibility to create professional, organized pages that serve your school community's needs while maintaining a consistent, polished appearance across your entire website.
