Adding videos to your school website is a great way to share important announcements, showcase student achievements, or provide educational content. Follow these simple steps to embed videos into any page on your website.
Getting Started
First, navigate to the page where you want to add your video. You can either create a new page or edit an existing one by tapping on the page name.
Adding Your Video
Step 1: Select Your Content Area
Choose where you want to place your video by either:
Adding a new content block to your page
Clicking into an existing content block
If you're using an existing content block, click approximately where you want the video to appear within that section.
Step 2: Insert the Video
Look for the insert/edit video button in your toolbar and tap it. This will open the video insertion dialog box.
Step 3: Add Your Video Source
In the Source field, you can add your video in one of two ways:
Paste the embed code provided by your video platform (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.)
Insert the shareable URL of your video
Most video platforms provide both options, so use whichever is more convenient for you.
Customizing Your Video
Adjusting Video Size
If you need to change the dimensions of your video:
Use the Width field to set how wide the video appears
Use the Height field to set how tall the video appears
Enter values in pixels (for example: 640 for width, 360 for height)
Setting Video Alignment
To control how your video is positioned on the page:
Make sure your video is selected
Look for the alignment buttons in your toolbar
Choose from:
Left - Video aligns to the left side with text wrapping around it
Center - Video appears centered on the page
Right - Video aligns to the right side with text wrapping around it
Tips for Success
Test your videos: Always preview your page after adding a video to ensure it displays correctly
Consider mobile users: Videos should be sized appropriately for viewing on phones and tablets
Use appropriate content: Ensure all videos follow your school's content guidelines and policies
Check video permissions: Make sure you have the right to embed any videos you're adding to your site
Once you've added and positioned your video, don't forget to save your changes to make them live on your website.
