How to Create and Use Templates

The "Templates" feature in the Edlio Mobile App allows you to create and store reusable message formats to save time, ensure consistency, and streamline your communication process. This guide explains how to create, manage, and effectively utilize message templates.

Accessing Templates

  1. Log in to your EdlioApp admin panel at edlioapp.com

2. Navigate to Mass Communication from the left sidebar menu

3. Click Templates from the Mass Communication dashboard

Understanding Message Templates

Templates serve several key purposes:

  1. Consistency - Maintain uniform messaging across communications

  2. Efficiency - Save time by reusing common message structures

  3. Standardization - Ensure all messages follow approved formats

  4. Branding - Keep communications aligned with organizational identity

  5. Error reduction - Minimize mistakes in frequently sent messages

Creating a New Template

To create a reusable message template:

  1. From the Templates dashboard, click the New Template button

2. Complete the following configuration:

Basic Template Information

  1. Enter a descriptive name for your template

  2. Optionally, add a description to help others understand its purpose

  3. Choose visibility settings:

    • Private - Only you can access this template

    • Public - Available to all users with template access

Template Content

  1. Enter a default subject line (for email templates)

  2. Create the message body content:

    • Format text using the rich text editor

    • Add placeholder images

    • Insert standard links

    • Create table structures if needed

3. Add personalization placeholders:

  • Recipient information (name, email, etc.)

  • Date/time fields

  • Organization information

  • Other dynamic content

4. Include any standard attachments (for email templates)

5. Click Save to store your template

Managing Existing Templates

The Templates dashboard displays all templates you can access:

  1. Search bar - Find specific templates by name or content

  2. Template list - Shows all available templates with key information:

    • Template name

    • Visibility status

    • Action buttons

3. Action options for each template:

  • View/Edit - Modify template content and settings

  • Duplicate - Create a copy of the template

  • Delete - Remove the template from the system

Using Templates in Messages

Templates can be applied when creating various message types:

In New Messages

  1. Start creating a new message

  2. When you reach the composition step, look for the "Template" button

  3. Select your desired template from the list

  4. The template content will be loaded into the editor

  5. Customize the content as needed for this specific message

  6. Complete the normal message creation process
