Your website plays a key role in sharing information with your audience–students, teachers, parents, grandparents, community members, prospective students, alumni, sponsors and more.

In 2017 approximately 2.3% of people in the United States reported a visual disability (see more disability statistics). Others have physical disabilities that make it hard to use a mouse. This makes navigating websites challenging. People use many tools to improve their ability to extract information from websites–anything from increasing the font sizes to using screen readers.

The good news is that there are things you can do to make it easier for these tools to work properly and provide the best experience.
