Reset a user's password

Steps to Reset a Password

Step 1: Access the Reset Option

  1. Go to the User Management page

  2. Find the staff member who needs a password reset

  3. Click on the three dots (...) to the right of their name

  4. Select "Email Password Reset Link" from the dropdown menu

Step 2: Confirm and Send the Reset Link

  1. A confirmation pop-up will appear

  2. Review the warning message that explains the user won't be able to log in until they reset their password

  3. Click "Send" to confirm and send the reset link

Step 3: Verify Reset Status

After sending the reset link:

  • The user will be moved to the "Requires Password Reset" group

  • They will remain in this group until they complete the password reset process

What Happens Next

  • The user will receive an email with instructions and a link to reset their password

  • Until they complete the reset process, they will not be able to log in to the CMS

  • Once they set a new password, they will return to their normal user group

Important Notes

  • The reset link is typically valid for 24 hours

  • Make sure the user has access to the email address associated with their account

  • If the user doesn't receive the email, check spam folders before sending another reset link
