Password protection allows you to restrict access to specific pages and features on your school website. Only users with the correct password will be able to view protected content.
Viewing Currently Protected Content
All pages and features that are currently password protected will appear under the What is protected tab. This gives you a complete overview of your site's restricted content.
Adding New Pages and Features to Password Protection
Step 1: Access the Protection Settings
Navigate to the What is protected tab
Click the Add pages and features button in the upper right corner
Step 2: Choose Your Protection Method
You can add content to password protection in several ways:
Method 1: Paste a Page URL
Copy the complete URL of the page you want to protect
Paste it into the URL field
Example:
www.rilohs.com/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=1547305&type=d&pREC_ID=1673414
Method 2: Select from the Pages List
Browse through the Pages list that appears in the modal
Choose one of the following options:
Select an entire section - This will password protect all pages within that section
Select a single page - This will protect only the specific page you choose
Method 3: Protect Personal Pages
To password protect all personal pages across your site, look for Personal Pages in the list
Select All Users to apply protection globally to all personal pages
Method 4: Select Features
Scroll down to view the Features list (appears below the Pages list)
Select any features you want to password protect, such as:
Contact forms
Photo galleries
Calendars
Other interactive elements
Step 3: Confirm Your Selection
Once you've made your selections using any of the methods above, the pages and features will be added to your protected content list.
Step 4: Review Protected Content
After adding items, you'll see them listed in the What is protected tab. This confirms that your password protection has been successfully applied.
Tips for Success
Be specific with sections: When protecting an entire section, remember that all current and future pages in that section will be protected
Review regularly: Check your protected content list periodically to ensure it matches your current needs
Test access: Always test protected pages to confirm they're working as expected
Your selected pages and features are now added to password protection and will require the appropriate credentials for access.
