Getting Started
To begin configuring your chatbot, navigate to the Chatbot option in the side navigation menu. Once on the Chatbot page, click the Customize button located in the top right corner to access all customization options.
Customization Options
The customize page provides several options to personalize your chatbot's appearance and messaging. On the right side of the screen, you'll see a live preview that updates as you make changes.
Chatbot Name
The chatbot name appears in the header of the chat window. By default, this is set to "Ask Assistant," but you can change it to something more specific to your school, such as your mascot name or "School Helper." This field supports up to 30 characters.
Attention Bubble Text
This is the text that appears in a small bubble to attract visitors' attention to the chatbot. The default text reads "Have questions? Ask me!" but you can customize this message to better engage your website visitors. As you edit this field, you'll see the changes reflected in the preview on the right side of the screen. You have up to 250 characters for this message.
Label Text (Welcome Message)
The label text is the first message your visitors see when they open the chatbot. The default greeting is "Hello! How can I assist you with information about the school today?" This welcome message sets the tone for the interaction and can be customized to reflect your school's communication style. This field allows up to 250 characters.
Chatbot Window Position
Choose where the chatbot appears on your website by selecting either:
Bottom-left: Places the chatbot icon in the lower left corner of the screen
Bottom-right: Places the chatbot icon in the lower right corner of the screen
Chatbot Theme
Select your color scheme to match your school's branding:
Primary color: Uses your website's primary color theme
Secondary color: Uses your website's secondary color theme
Chatbot Icon
Choose from four default icon options to represent your chatbot. The selected icon will display with a green checkmark indicator, and this is what visitors will click to open the chat window.
Saving Your Changes
After customizing your chatbot settings, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page to apply your configurations. Your chatbot will immediately reflect these updates on your live website.
Additional Notes
All changes are applied immediately after saving
You can return to the Customize page at any time to update your chatbot settings
The preview panel helps you visualize how your chatbot will appear to website visitors before saving
