Send your CMS news stories directly to parents and community members through Email, Text, Voice, and Social media channels without leaving your news publishing workflow. This eliminates the need to recreate content across different systems.

How to Cross-Post Your News Story

Step 1: Publish Your News Story

Create and publish your news story in the CMS as you normally would.

Step 2: Access Mass Communications

After publishing, you'll see a Mass Communications option on the news announce page. Click this button to transfer your story to the Mass Communications dashboard.

Step 3: Review and Send

Your news story will automatically appear in Mass Communications with the appropriate channels pre-selected and content formatted for each channel.

Automatic Channel Selection

When your news story transfers to Mass Communications, these channels are automatically selected:

  • Email

  • Text

  • Voice

  • Social media

The App channel is left unselected since your news stories already appear in the app automatically from the CMS.

Content Formatting by Channel

Your news content is automatically optimized for each communication method:

Email

  • Your headline becomes the subject line

  • Recipients receive your short summary

  • Includes a "Click here to read the whole story" link

Text Messages

  • Recipients get your short summary

  • Includes the direct link to your news post

Voice Calls

  • Your headline becomes the spoken message that callers hear

Social Media

  • Content is formatted appropriately for social posting
