How to Generate an Accessibility Report for a News Story
Creating a new story on the News feature page is a simple process that allows you to share important information with your audience. However, it's important to ensure that your story is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. In this article, we'll walk you through the steps to generate an accessibility report for your new story.
Start Creating a News Story
To begin, navigate to the News feature page and click on the "Add News" button. This will take you to the page where you can start crafting your story.
Check for Accessibility
Once you have finished creating your story, you will notice a page footer that indicates whether or not an accessibility report has been generated. If you see that an accessibility report has not yet been generated, don't worry - we'll show you how to do that in the next step.
Generate the Accessibility Report
To generate an accessibility report, simply click on the "Review accessibility report" button. This will run a check on your story and provide you with a report on its accessibility.
If you are in a hurry and need to publish your story right away without checking for accessibility, you can click on the "Publish anyway" button to publish immediately. However, we highly recommend taking the time to ensure your story is accessible to all users.
Save Your Story
In order to generate an accessibility report, your story must be saved. If you haven't saved your story yet, a prompt will appear asking you to do so. Click on the "Save as unpublished" button to continue.
Once your story is saved, the accessibility report will be generated and you can review it to make any necessary changes.
