Add and Configure Payment Fields in CMS Forms

Learn how to add fixed, variable, itemized, and donation payment fields to Edlio website forms.

Payment fields transform any standard Edlio web form into an active transaction portal. You can add payment fields to newly created payment forms or introduce them to existing forms to collect fees, booster dues, event tickets, or donations.

Available Payment Field Types

  • Fixed Amount Field: A predetermined fee that cannot be altered by the payer (e.g., $25 Field Trip Fee or $50 Lab Fee).

  • Variable / Payer-Defined Amount: Allows the user to enter their own custom dollar amount. Ideal for general school donations, alumni giving, or custom booster club sponsorships.

  • Itemized Option Dropdown / Radio: Provides a list of specific priced options where the total fee updates based on the user's choice (e.g., Single Ticket $15, Family Pass $40).

  • Quantity Selector: Allows purchasers to select how many units they are buying (e.g. 1 to 5 event tickets), automatically calculating the extended balance.

How to Add Payment Fields

  1. Open your form in the Form Builder.

  2. In the left-hand component panel, scroll down to the Payment Fields section.

  3. Drag the desired payment component onto your form layout.

  4. Click the field to edit its properties:

    • Field Label: Clear title displayed to parents (e.g. Registration Fee).

    • Amount ($): The base dollar price.

    • Required: Check this box so the form cannot be submitted without completing payment.

  5. Click Save Form.

💡 Accounting & Adoption Tip: Give each payment field a specific, recognizable label rather than a generic "Fee". These labels appear verbatim in your Sales Summary and bank deposit reports, making year-end auditing and ledger reconciliation effortless for your business office.
