Setup Broadcasts

Set your default channels, language, email, and caller ID

Updated this week

Broadcasts is a legacy feature that will be discontinued soon. For information about our newest Mass Communication tool, please view our knowledge articles here.

Set Default Channels

To set up default broadcast channels, go to your CMS settings and click on Broadcast.

The available default channels will vary based on purchased channels by your school or district.

If you frequently use only a few channels for your Broadcasts, set them as default to simplify creating a new Broadcast.

On the Broadcast settings page, set the default channels and click Save.

Social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram can be set up using social media settings.

Default Language

Select the default language for all your Broadcasts. Your chosen language will be set as the primary language by default whenever you create a new Broadcast. However, you can always change the primary language while creating or editing a Broadcast.

Email Addresses

To use the Broadcasts Email channel, you need to verify at least one email address from which the broadcasts will be sent. You can verify multiple email addresses and choose which one to use for each Broadcast.

  • Enter the Name and the Email Address you want to use when sending Broadcasts.

  • To Save the email address and name, click Save.

The name you enter here only affects how your name appears in Broadcasts, not other Edlio features or emails sent by your email provider.

Caller ID

If you have the Broadcasts voice channel, you can set up Caller ID optionally. Once Caller ID is set up, all Broadcast voice calls will appear to be sent from the number you have specified.

Broadcast caller ID

Enter the phone number you want all Broadcast voice calls to be sent from and click Call Number to begin verification.

Broadcast verification code

Enter the verification code provided during the call to complete the process. The verified number will be configured, and all Broadcast voice calls will be sent from this number.

If you experience issues using your school extension, try adding "w"s in front of the extension number to delay the extension dial. We recommend adding about six "w"s for a 3-second delay.
